Description

We talked about this informally. There was a version of this ticket in Fogbugz.

We want to be able to edit any field in place in the media browser w/ ajax -> Title, Description, Tags, etc.

No more page refresh, no more whisking me away to another page.

We don't have a design in mind just yet. I don't think we want edit buttons strewn all over the place.

But in principle, lets make this happen soon.

Thanks!

What about adding metadata as slot only level? in media repository would be original, with title etc.
but fields like title/description should be overridden in linking table slot<->mediaitem.

That makes possibile to use different titles in different context, what is a key in robust sites, when usually single image from repository is used in different pages.

it makes sense to merge with cropping - you store data at slot level, so a_slot_media_item table has also columns:
- title
- desc
- crop
- some other metadata in xml if needed.

jn78, please open a separate ticket to request those features. This ticket is focused on editing the permanent metadata of a single media item.

Thanks!
